Presented in our pages in 2019 when it was coming out of a successful crowdfunding campaign, the Sony Reon Pocket was launched in Japan in 2020. Since then, the device has gone international. Today it is evolving and Sony arrives with the Reon Pocket Pro, improving the previous generation in many ways.

As a reminder, this portable air conditioning unit is worn around the neck. Via a principle called the Peltier effect, the Reon Pocket Pro cools you by lowering the temperature by a maximum of 13° and can even warm you up by raising it by an additional 8°. For the first time in this new version, the device is equipped with two independent thermal modules, each one being activated alternately with variable intensity to maintain cooling. Additionally, it features about twice the cooling surface area, up to twice the original heat absorption performance, and up to twice the operating time (15 hours max battery life).

The improved Smart Cool mode intelligently adapts to the environment by analyzing user behavior, temperature, and humidity to deliver powerful and efficient cooling. And operating noise has been reduced by about 50%. Also noteworthy are the function buttons, allowing operation even without a smartphone.
