iPhone delivered by Amazon drone

Still limited in its deployment, Amazon's drone delivery can now deliver new categories of items, including iPhones and other Apple products.

Announced in 2013 and rolled out in 2022, the Amazon Prime Air service has recently received authorization from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to deliver new categories of items, including iPhones, AirPods and AirTags.

As a reminder, it involves delivering your packages with an autonomous drone in order to receive them in less than an hour (and without too much pollution, to boot). However, the vision of a future where the skies are filled with delivery drones is still a long way off, since the service is limited to certain portions of two American cities in Texas and Arizona. Additionally, the drone can only carry one package at a time, up to about 2 kg, and can only fly in favorable weather conditions. Amazon promises to expand the project in the future, launching in the UK and Italy initially, subject to receiving official approvals.
