In its latest quarterly earnings announcement, Nintendo estimated that 15 million copies of its new Switch 2 console will be sold worldwide during its first ten months of operation, between its release on June 5, 2025, and the end of the fiscal year on March 31, 2026.

A figure comparable to that of the first Switch in 2017, which sold 17 million copies during its first thirteen months. In addition to the consoles, Nintendo expects to sell 45 million Switch 2 games during this same period. The manufacturer also remains confident for the first Switch, since it hopes to sell 4.5 million Switches as well as 100 million games for the current fiscal year. With the console reaching the end of its life, these results are naturally less good than those of last year: 10.8 million Switches for 155 million games in 2024.
