Classé Audio, of Canadian origin, owned by the American group Masimo, has always been one of the most renowned Hi-Fi brands. For a few years now, it has also become one of the most expensive on the market. Its latest addition, the Classé Delta Pre Mk II multiroom Heos pre-amplifier, is no exception to the rule.

Evolution of the Classé Audio Delta Pre, the Classé Delta Pre Mk II is in the same form but evolves significantly in substance. Starting with two AKM AK4497EQ 384 kHz/32-bit digital-to-analog converters operating in differential mono mode. Support for PCM 384/32 (768 kHz via USB-B), DSD 22.4 MHz and MQA (via USB-B) formats is provided.

On the menu, a new digital circuit for a level of distortion declared imperceptible by its creator. Likewise, the multiroom functionality of the Masimo group (as a reminder, the latter owns Denon, Marantz, Bowers & Wilkins, Polk, Definitive Technology, Boston Acoustics), Heos, is on the program. In addition to the integration of the Classé Delta Pre Mk II as a link in an audio-video chain made up of suitable products from the aforementioned brands, this allows it to access the world of audio streaming. Of course, the main digital music platforms, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, Spotify Connect... and web radios are directly accessible, the same for AirPlay 2, the UPnP audio gateway function (DLNA) and Roon Ready certification.

The Classé Delta Pre Mk II multiroom Heos pre-amplifier offers wide connectivity: three coaxial inputs, three optical, one AES/EBU, two XLR stereo inputs , two RCA stereo inputs, two Phono (MM/MC), two XLR/two RCA stereo outputs, one XLR/one RCA subwoofer output, two USB-A ports (including one on the front), one asynchronous USB-C port and a headphone output. Namely, there is an optional card with four HDMI 2.0 connectors to also manage its video devices.

Also worth noting is a frequency, selectable slope and tone control, plus a five-band parametric EQ (digital filter) per channel. The front screen is touchscreen and a Digital Bypass mode is present for analog sources that do not require Dac intervention.
