The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games (Fortnite) are close to entering into a mutual investment agreement in video games and entertainment. For this, the big-eared company will spend 1.5 billion dollars to invest in Epic Games.
A new universe and licenses by the dozens££££
The idea is to offer a “world-class gaming experience” to develop a Disney gaming universe working with Fortnite. The official release states: “In addition to interacting with Fortnite, the new persistent universe will offer a multitude of opportunities for consumers to play, watch, purchase and interact with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar and more.”
If we read between the lines, and see the illustration accompanying the press release, it will most certainly be an enormous virtual amusement park where it will be possible to meet and play with all Disney licenses. Please note that some Disney video games already use Unreal Engine 3D software from Epic.
