Avatar 2, 4K UHD and Blu-Ray release on June 23, it's official

Already available since April 13 in digital purchase, Avatar 2: the way of the water is about to continue its crazy adventure in 4K (and Steelbook 4K), Blu-Ray and DVD. The long-awaited date is finally revealed, it will be June 23, 2023.

After much speculation and very approximate dates seen today on the net, it's finally official: Avatar 2: The Way of the Water will be available in 4K UHD (3 discs), Blu-Ray 3D

(3 discs), Blu-Ray (2 discs), DVD (1 disc) and 4K Steelbook (3 discs) on June 23 (all visuals below).

3 hours of bonus for a dive in the heart of Avatar 2

Disney announces as a bonus more than 3 hours of diving behind the scenes of the film, probably those already offered with the digital EST version, namely:

• The creation of the world of Pandora. Years of research were needed to build the world of Pandora with its characters, creatures, native clans, underwater environments…• Filming Pandora. The performance consists of having the actors play in a volume equipped with infrared cameras to capture all their movements, and head cameras to capture the emotions on their faces, with the only limits being those of the imagination.• The underwater world from Pandora. Dylan Cole and his team designed the sea creatures while James Cameron and his stunt team devised extraordinary ways to bring them to life within a motion capture pool. • Water Challenges. James Cameron tackles the challenge of motion capture above and below the surface of the water, using a wave machine and current generator designed to replicate ocean conditions, as well as underwater vehicles to reproduce the movements of the creatures. • The return of the heroes. James Cameron reunites with his actors -Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. Together, they discuss the astonishing evolution of their characters in this new opus.• The new generation. Meet the young talents who have been chosen to embody the new generation of Na'vi.• Spider. James Cameron introduced the human character of Spider to the world of Pandora, creating a host of on-set technological challenges…and an incredible journey for its young actor, Jack Champion. • Become Na'vi. The cast immersed themselves in Na'vi culture, living off the land in the Hawaiian rainforest and training in a multitude of disciplines to prepare for their roles. • The People of the Reef. The Metkayina clan was developed with great attention to detail. It features unique traits and culture with new homes, new clothes, and a different way of life resulting from living by the ocean. • Create Pandora. Once James Cameron completes his virtual production process, each sequence is entrusted to Weta FX to bring Pandora to life, with unprecedented advancements in facial performance, environments and water effects in pictures. summary. • The return of the GDR.
