Definitely, the American continent inspires our national manufacturer. After the Focal Vestia series unveiled at the CES show in Las Vegas 2023 last January (see our Focal Vestia news, new range of Hi-Fi and Home Cinema speakers), the brand took advantage of the Axpona show which is was held about two weeks ago to reveal the Theva series to the world, also intended for fans of Hi-Fi and great Home Cinema entertainment.
Focla Theva, 6 models columns, bookcases, surround and central
The Focal Theva series has six references, the three floor standing Focal Theva N°2, Focal Theva N°3 and Focal Theva N°3-D, the Focal Theva N°1 bookshelf loudspeaker and the central Focal Theva Center. The brand also offers two stands, one for the control unit, the other for the library, the Focal Stand Theva Center and Stand Theva N°1.
Note that the Focal Theva N°3-D incorporates a 13 cm full-range driver with a Slatefiber cone (aluminum/magnesium dome) at its top, oriented upwards, to reproduce the channels Height of the bands- Dolby Atmos sound (see photo above). The latter is accompanied by a waveguide for reproduction of localized and precise sound effects.
Focal Theva, Slatefiber membrane for everyone
The manufacturer has developed the Theva range from its exclusive Slatefiber membrane (recycled carbon fiber sandwiched between two layers of polymer), used for midrange, boomers and midrange-boomers 13 cm or 16.5 cm , while the high frequencies are taken care of by the 25 mm TNF (mix of magnesium and aluminum) inverted dome tweeter.
Another feature common to all the speakers except the center and the surround: a bass-reflex type load to promote the depth of the soundstage. Namely, the Focal Theva column speakers have an angled foot to respect Time Alignment and obtain an audio scene centered on the listener. the same is true for the Theva Center power station and the Theva N°1 library, once placed on their respective feet.
Immediate availability, in lacquered black finish, dark wood or light wood with, as for the Vesta loudspeakers, a gray leather effect front. Indicative prices:
