Marantz AMP10, 16-channel Class D power amp, update available

Presented in our columns last October, the Marantz AMP10 home cinema amplifier, which was planned in stores at the time in March, has finally been available for a few days. As a reminder, the latter completes the Marantz Home Cinema range for the 2023 vintage. Either the 7.2 Marantz Cinema 70s (slim) and Marantz Cinema 60 DAB models, the 9.4 Marantz Cinema 50 and Marantz Cinema 40 models and the Marantz AV10 pre-amplifier.

Perfect companion to the Marantz AV10 pre-amplifier (pictured below), the Marantz AMP10 amplifier is a 16 x 200 W (into 8 ohms) Class D model (16 x 400 W into 4 ohms).

Design Marantz 2022

As with the Marantz Cinema 70s, Cinema 60 DAB, Cinema 50, Cinema 40 and Marantz AV10 amps, the most notable change about the Marantz AMP10 amp is the stunning new design introduced on the manufacturer's audiophile products, the Marantz Model 40n network player, the Marantz CD 60 audio CD player or the Marantz SACD 30n player.

This new look is a nod to the history of Marantz with the presence of an analog VU meter on the front, which has the most beautiful effect.

Marantz AMP10, Main Specifications

Of course, the Marantz AMP10 is a "bridgable" model to manage speakers with particularly low efficiency. Similarly, bi-amplification is part of it. For the rest, it offers the choice for each channel between balanced (XLR) or unbalanced (RCA) input for maximum flexibility. The deamplification stages are HDAM 2 type (Current Feedback type circuit) and the transformer is a toroidal specimen.

Available, in black or silver finish, in March 2023. Indicative price: 6,999 euros.
