63% of Americans equipped with Smart TV

Connected TVs consolidate their position as preferred devices for enjoying video streaming, but also for centralizing control of the home.

According to a recent study by Parks Associates, 63% of broadband households in the United States have a Smart TV, compared to 55% a year ago, and 38% in 2015.

Consumers vote for Smart TV as Smart Home platform

Parks reveals, among other things, that 87% of these households have at least one video streaming service, and an average of 16 connected devices at home. At the top of respondents' expectations, centralized access to control all these devices, with Smart TV as the preferred device. Moreover, many new Smart TVs presented at the last CES show in Las Vegas 2023 in early January, increasingly integrate centralized control functions for home devices.

The word to Elizabeth Parks

“Smart TVs are part of the modern household. This device will be the key element of a completely integrated home entertainment vision in the future, explains Elizabeth Parks. New apps and integrations bring together the smart home and entertainment ecosystems to monetize the user base and gain more control over data in the home."
