Flagship Showtime series could be reborn at Paramount

Since the integration of Showtime within Paramount+, some former flagship programs of the US channel could return in the form of reboots, remakes or other discoveries.

Bob Bakish, CEO of Paramount Global, recently clarified to the US media Deadline that Showtime was no longer able to stand on its own within the company, but that the brand was still very valuable to integrate with Paramount+: “It no longer makes sense for Showtime to operate 100% independently. Although we have not yet made an announcement on this subject, several franchise relaunch projects are under consideration and some could arrive on Paramount+ as early as September 2023”.

After the relaunch of Dexter for a limited series, other flagship Showtime series could thus be the subject of new exploitations. Note that Showtime's most emblematic series are Billions, Homeland, Shameless, Yellowjackets, The L Word, Ray Donovan (whose last season Ray Donovan the film is also nominated in the Best Film for Television category at the next Critics ' Choice Awards), Californication, Queer as Folk, Dead Like Me, Weeds, The Affair, City on a Hill. And in co-production: Penny Dreadful, The Tudors and The Borgias. To be continued !
