Wishing to remain anonymous, BGR sources say an upcoming software update will bring Dolby Atmos compatibility to the in-car audio systems of more than a million Tesla cars on the road, and those rolling off the lines of production.
Dolby Atmos in Teslas with Apple Music and Tidal
An update that makes sense given the recent rumors of the arrival of the Apple Music and Tidal music platforms on Tesla cars. Indeed Tidal offers Dolby Atmos in its HiFi Plus option, and Apple Music makes available thousands of songs encoded in this format.
The vehicle models concerned have not yet been revealed, but it is certain that Dolby Atmos will require the premium sound system as well as the premium connectivity option as well.
