CRAZY: the multi-award-winning Canadian fresco in 4K Ultra HD on September 7

The comedy-drama CRAZY by Jean-Marc Vallée, the most awarded feature film in the history of the Canadian Césars, will be released in a 4K remastered version on September 7 by Kobafilms. A first for the independent French publisher.

Born at the end of 1959, Zac (Marc-André Grondin), the youngest of a large conservative family, has a very intense relationship with his father Gervais (Michel Côté), whom he admires more than anything. Zac prefers boys, but does his best to hide it from his father until the truth comes out. It will take about twenty years for the son and his father to accept and love each other as they are.

14 awards at a single ceremony

CRAZY was built on the childhood memories of François Boulay, lifelong co-screenwriter of the late Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club, Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects). The film met with great success at international festivals - it was screened at Cannes 2005 - and above all made a hold-up at the Jutras (the Canadian Césars since renamed Iris) with no less than 14 awards. It is, in fact, the most awarded film in the history of this ceremony.

David Bowie at the soundtrack

A current fresco over more than twenty years, CRAZY, benefits from music signed, if you please, David Bowie and interspersed with many hits from Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones or Cure. Released in theaters in France in 2006, CRAZY had won the favor of just over 300,000 spectators at the time. It was later, in video version, that CRAZY forged a reputation as a cult film, carried by a solid word-of-mouth.
