Smart Home Market Growth in 2021

Smart TV, connected lights and other objects that make the home more “intelligent” are destined to continue to grow.

According to the latest figures from International Data Corporation (IDC) (via Advanced Television) the global market for Smart Home devices grew by 11.7% in 2021 compared to 2020, to a total of 895 million units distributed .

Growth of the Smart Home market over the next five years

IDC expects great growth in this sector over the next five years, as users expand their Smart Home ecosystem. This growth will also be driven by increasing broadband equipment in homes and the increase in wireless home networks. Another factor is the growing consumer awareness of this family of products, particularly in terms of the savings they allow, and their practical side.

Smart TV, streaming key and box, leaders in Smart Home equipment

Connected video devices -Smart TV, streaming stick and boxes- represent the largest share of distributed devices, i.e. 34.7% for a growth of 4.8% between 2020 and 2021. Connected lights will see the most growth. faster with an average annual growth rate of 23.6% over the next five years.
