According to the latest figures from Counterpoint Research, the global distribution of connected watches grew by 24% between 2020 and 2021, after limited growth in 2020 due to the health crisis.
Smartwatch market, Apple still top leader
In the fourth quarter of 2021 alone, more than 40 million units were distributed, a quarterly record. Apple maintains its number one spot with a 30% market share, although this has fallen by 3% compared to 2020 due to fierce competition.
Stronger growth for Samsung, +200%
Special mention for Samsung, with in particular a 200% growth in the third quarter for a record distribution for the brand. Amazfit, for its part, shows a growth of 20% between 2020 and 2021, and Garmin climbs to 6th place with a growth of 35% between 2020 and 2021. These three brands have recorded growth above the market average, even if Apple remains arch-leader.
