iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max without notch, confirmation with a first leaked image

New technical details on the front photo/video sensor of the future iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max…

The flurry of rumors on the subject confirms that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be the first models of the brand to abandon the front notch since its introduction on the iPhone X.

Beam of concordant rumors

This notch at the top of the screen is indeed far from being an aesthetic decision that was unanimously accepted. This year Apple should deviate from it by adopting a solution already common among the competition: a perforation at the top of the screen in the shape of a pill to make room for the front sensors. The rumor was started by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, and comes to swell the ranks of rumors going in the same direction. In 2021, this same indiscretion was reported by numerous analysts and specialized media, including the Korean site The Elec, and the Taiwanese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Over the past few days, leaker ShrimpApplePro provided some technical details about this design change and even an image that supposedly shows one of the layers of the iPhone 14 Pro Max display. We can see two perforations at the top of the screen, one oval in the shape of a pill for the camera module, and the other circular for the Face ID sensor. The particularity of the latter is that it will not be visible on the screen since it will be reflective and therefore hidden (see photos below), like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Note that the notch will remain on the iPhone 14 and 14 Max, only the Pro and Pro Max models being affected by this design change.
