Announced this year on the occasion of the Mobile World Congress, the Honor Robot Phone was recently presented in greater detail, ahead of its release in China, where 400,000 reservations have already been recorded.
Honor Robot Phone, 200 MP camera on a robotic arm
The device’s main selling point, as you may have guessed from the images, is a retractable 200 MP camera that extends from the top of a robotic arm, a small gimbal with four degrees of mobility and three axes of stabilization. Equipped with a titanium motor weighing just 2.6 g and combined with Honor’s AI and processing algorithms, the camera notably makes it easier to shoot while in motion and to reproduce shots generally reserved for larger stabilized cameras.
First collaboration with specialist Arri
The Honor Robot Phone also marks the first collaboration between Honor and Arri, a company specializing in imaging equipment and professional workflow. The smartphone thus integrates Arri technologies such as Arri LogC3, for the first time on mobile, making it possible to retain more information in highlights, shadows, and colors. One can also mention the Arri Wide Gamut 3 feature, which provides an extended color basis.
