Marantz MCR 60n DAB: all-in-one Hi-Fi, HDMI eARC, Phono input and Heos streaming

Seven years after the success of the M-CR612, Marantz renews its emblematic all-in-one compact system with the announcement of the Marantz MCR 60n DAB. Featuring the brand’s new design, this model thoroughly modernizes its formula through the addition of an HDMI eARC input, an MM phono preamp, bidirectional Bluetooth, the Heos streaming platform up to 384 kHz, and compatibility with Dirac Live calibration. Nothing less!

A true pillar of compact hi-fi systems, the MCR range takes a major technological leap with this new MCR 60n. Combining a front-loading [abc]CD audio[/abc] player, a full network streamer, four-channel amplification and connectivity open to Home Cinema and vinyl, the unit adopts the aesthetic lines of the Japanese manufacturer’s latest high-end products.

Marantz MCR 60n: revised amplification, Bi-Amp and PBTL modes Under its compact hood, the MCR 60n integrates a new power supply unit with increased current reserve for better speaker control. The amplification delivers 2 x 65 W into 6 ohms (or 4 x 33 W into 4 ohms). The four-channel architecture allows great modularity: powering one or two pairs of speakers (A and B) with individual volume adjustment for two different rooms, bi-amplification mode (to separate bass/midrange and treble on a compatible two-way speaker) or PBTL mode (Parallel Bridge-Tied Load) to use all the power on a single pair of speakers.

Marantz MCR 60n: HDMI eARC, MM phono preamp and bidirectional Bluetooth Designed as the nerve center of the modern living room, the Marantz MCR 60n includes an [abc]HDMI[/abc] [abc]eARC[/abc] input. Compatible with [abc]HDMI[/abc] [abc]CEC[/abc] for volume control via the TV remote, it supports decoding [abc]Dolby Digital[/abc] and [abc]Dolby Digital Plus[/abc] streams, offering a high-end stereo alternative to a soundbar. Another addition awaited by music lovers, an MM phono preamplifier appears for directly connecting a turntable without an external box.

The wireless section is also expanded: [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] becomes bidirectional (RX/TX), allowing not only music reception from a smartphone, but also transmission of sound to a wireless headset or earbuds for discreet nighttime listening.

Marantz MCR 60n: Heos 384 kHz, Roon Ready and Dirac Live calibration The Heos multiroom network platform provides access to [abc]streaming[/abc] services (Spotify Connect, Tidal, Qobuz Connect, Deezer, Amazon Music), [abc]webradios[/abc] as well as [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc] and Roon Ready protocols. The DAC section now supports PCM streams up to 384 kHz/32 bits and [abc]DSD[/abc] up to 11.2 megahertz. Four Smart Select shortcut buttons on the remote control let you instantly store your favorite sources and volume levels.

Unprecedented in this format, the MCR 60n is compatible with the Dirac Live Room Correction acoustic correction system (via an optional upgrade) to calibrate performance according to the listening room.

Marantz MCR 60n: comprehensive connectivity Beyond the HDMI and Phono inputs, the physical connectivity is particularly rich. It includes one [abc]optical[/abc] digital input, one [abc]USB[/abc] input and one [abc]Ethernet[/abc] network port. On the output side, the unit features a subwoofer output with adjustable crossover frequency, as well as variable audio outputs (Main PreOut) allowing it to function as a pure high-end network preamplifier with active speakers. Finally, the rear panel groups together four pairs of screw terminals.

Availability announced for September 15, 2026 in Matte Black and Champagne Gold finishes. Indicative price: 900 euros.
