Sony Bravia 6: affordable 4K 120 Hz Ultra HD OLED TV with Google TV and Gemini

The Japanese manufacturer Sony announces today the launch of its new Bravia 6 television series. Positioned as the most competitive OLED offering in the 2026 lineup, it aims to democratize the home cinematic experience by combining a 120 Hz Woled panel, solid gaming connectivity, and the unprecedented integration of Gemini artificial intelligence within Google TV.

With the TV Oled Bravia 6 series, Sony is expanding its self-emissive range to meet growing demand for large screen sizes. This latest model notably marks the return of much-anticipated diagonals in an aggressive price segment, with a complete range stretching from 48" (122 cm) to 83" (211 cm).

White Oled 100/120 Hz panel and Triluminos Pro colors To achieve a competitive price positioning while preserving the infinite contrast and absolute blacks characteristic of self-emissive technology, Sony has chosen a White Woled SE panel here (1,000 nits peak brightness, see our LG Oled SE TV news: the fatal weapon to lower prices and compete with Mini LED?) native UHD 4K 120 hertz. Color processing is handled by Triluminos Pro technology, coupled with a dynamic contrast booster. On the HDR side, support for [abc]Dolby Vision HDR[/abc] ensures cinematic fidelity in line with the directors’ intentions. To contain costs, the brand is foregoing its cutting-edge XR or X1 processors, as well as the anti-reflective filters exclusive to higher-end ranges.

Sony Bravia 6: Dolby Atmos/DTS:X audio and pairing with Bravia Theatre bars On the audio front, Bravia 6 televisions abandon Acoustic Surface Audio+ in favor of a [abc]bass-reflex[/abc] [abc]2.0[/abc] stereo system with an output of 20 watts. It nevertheless supports 3D audio decoding [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] and [abc]DTS:X[/abc] and manages simultaneous audio output, for example to use it on a Bluetooth headset. The device was specifically designed to work in tandem with the manufacturer’s new sound bars, notably the Bravia Theatre Bar 7 and Bravia Theatre Bar 9 (the latter being particularly recommended for the large 77" and 83" sizes). Its tabletop stand also offers two mounting positions: a standard position flush with the furniture and a raised position allowing a soundbar to be slid directly under the panel without obstructing the display.

Sony Bravia 6: Gemini-powered Google TV and Sony Pictures Core offer The connected interface is based on Google TV, enhanced by the integration of the Gemini artificial intelligence assistant (deployed via an OTA software update). A built-in hands-free microphone in the chassis allows the TV to be controlled and contextual voice searches to be launched. The [abc]Chromecast (integrated)[/abc] wireless streaming function is also included. The integrated movie offering highlights the very high-quality streaming service Sony Pictures Core, offered here in a 12/5 package (12 months of unlimited streaming catalog subscription and 5 credits for recent films included).

Sony Bravia 6 gaming equipment: 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs (4K/120, VRR, ALLM) For video games, Bravia 6 TVs are particularly well equipped: they offer four [abc]HDMI[/abc] 2.1 inputs, all compatible with Ultra HD 4K signals at 120 Hz, variable refresh rate ([abc]VRR[/abc]) and automatic low latency mode ([abc]ALLM[/abc]). Although the Voice Zoom 3 function and the Ideal for PS5 marketing label are reserved for higher-end models, they provide a particularly smooth and responsive display for current consoles.

Availability announced from September for the 48", 55", 65" and 77" sizes, October for the 83-inch model. Indicative prices:
