Sony Bravia 9 II, True RGB Mini LED TV 65", 75", 85" and 115"

As announced, following our presentation of the Sony Bravia 7 II series, it's time for the Sony Bravia 9 II. On the agenda: more zones, superior brightness, an extremely effective anti-reflective coating, and an even more refined audio system. Not to mention the gigantic 115" screen for total immersion…
The Sony Bravia 9 II TV series, or Sony XR95M2, is the second in the 2026 TV range equipped with True RGB Mini LED technology, along with the Sony Bravia 7 II. It includes four Ultra HD 4K models: the Sony K65XR95M2 (65", 191 cm), Sony K75XR95M2 (75", 191 cm), Sony K85XR95M2 (85", 216 cm), and Sony K115XR95M2 (115", 292 cm). The differences between the Sony Bravia 7 II and Sony Bravia 9 II televisions are ultimately few. Features include the exclusive Immersive Black Screen Pro anti-reflective coating (patent pending, linked to a nano-structured layer), an RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro backlighting system with a greater number of zones, and therefore more LEDs, and enhanced sound equipment in the form of two additional beam tweeters positioned at the top rear of the LCD panel (except on the 115"). The panel frame is also metal (compared to plastic on the Bravia 7 II screens). Notably, for the Immersive Black Screen Pro coating, the teams and colorists at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) actively participated in the development and evaluation of this surface film to ensure that it meticulously preserves the director's vision, even in brightly lit rooms. Sony XR95M2, 2026 TVs equipped with True RGB Mini technology The Sony Bravia 9 II TVs feature True RGB Mini LED technology developed by Sony's Semiconductor Solutions Group, promising numerous improvements for superior picture quality. Based on the RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro backlighting system, this technology uses a triplet of RGB diodes in each zone, each controlled independently of the other two for increased color accuracy, an expanded color gamut, less color interference, and a significantly improved viewing angle, without any loss of contrast or brightness. Ultimately, Sony claims that its exclusive True RGB system delivers a color gamut approximately twice as wide as that of a standard Mini LED TV (such as the Sony Bravia 9 released in 2024; click on the following link for a full review of the Sony K65XR90) and four times wider than that of an OLED TV (referring to the Sony Bravia 8 QD OLED TV). Sony XR95M2, improved gradation and very large screens up to 115 inches££££

Another advantage highlighted by Sony of the True RGB process, in conjunction with the brand's video processing, is significantly improved color gradation to eliminate posterization effects in a sky, for example. Similarly, since True RGB technology is linked to LCD displays, it is easy to manufacture very large screens, up to 115 inches, such as the Sony K115XR95M2 in the 2026 catalog. Another advantage of these televisions, given their size, is the possibility of equipping them with a relatively sophisticated audio system for a truly spectacular picture and sound experience.

Sony XR95M2, main specifications: Triluminos Max, Luminance Booster, HDR and XR Processor

Among the main specifications of the Sony Bravia 9 II True RGB TVs, in addition to the RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro, are the RGB Triluminos Max functionality plus the Luminance Booster and Smooth Color Gradation features. Also included is the X-Wide Angle Pro process, which contributes to the wide viewing angle, and support for HDR10, HDR HLG, and HDR Dolby Vision. Finally, the XR Cognitive Processor chip is still present.

Sony XR95M2: Acoustic Multi-Audio+ function and Voice Zoom 3££££

The sound section of the Sony XR95M2 series is called Acoustic Multi-Audio+. In addition to the two beamforming tweeters already mentioned (absent from the 115" model, as a reminder), it uses two tweeters placed on the sides of the LCD panel, two woofers, and two full-range speakers located on the rear of the panel. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced compatibility are also included. The Voice Zoom 3 technology, based on artificial intelligence, identifies human voices and amplifies them for perfect intelligibility. The Acoustic Center Sync function achieves sound fusion between the TV's speakers and a Bravia Theatre soundbar. Voice Zoom 3 also works when a Bravia Theatre soundbar is present. [] Sony Bravia XR95M2, Smart Google TV and Connected Features 2026 ££££

Sony's 2026 Smart TVs feature the Google TV operating system, which prioritizes content. Like Android TV, Google TV groups and organizes all your streaming apps and subscriptions in one place. However, while Android TV displays apps at the top of the menus, here content takes center stage, displayed side-by-side by theme. Over 7,000 apps are included, such as Disney+, Netflix, Canal+, France TV, and YouTube, along with more than 800,000 movies and TV episodes. And there's no need to switch between services to find what you want to watch: hundreds of thousands of movies and series are organized and searchable by genre, regardless of their origin. Finally, the Gemini AI is included.

The XR Cognitive Processor 2026 also contributes to the Smart TV functionality for improved ergonomics thanks to near-instantaneous fluidity and responsiveness. Finally, the Sony XR95M2 TVs integrate Google Assistant out of the box via Chromecast certification (built-in) and a dual microphone, one on the remote control and the other on the TV. This allows for direct voice interaction with the screen without using the remote. AirPlay 2 and HomeKit certifications are also included.

Sony Bravia XR95M2, Bravia Core and integrated OTT services££££

Like all Sony Bravia XR TVs, the Sony XR95M2 and Bravia 9 II offer the exclusive Bravia Core streaming platform (for Center of Real Entertainment). This service, primarily driven by Sony Pictures productions, offers, with the purchase of a Bravia XR, Bravia 9/9 II, Bravia 8/8 II, or Bravia 7/7 II TV, the opportunity to watch a selection of ten films from the biggest Hollywood studios and the largest collection of feature films bearing the IMAX Enhanced label free of charge for 24 months. And this is offered in extreme quality, with a bitrate of up to 80 Mbps for consumers with a suitable subscription. Bravia XR95M2, Perfect for PlayStation 5 gaming features and Game Menu. The Perfect for PlayStation 5 certification, with its two features Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode, is also included. With this certification, Sony XR95M2 TVs automatically switch between Game and Standard modes depending on the nature of the signal sent by the PS5 console.

Sony 2026 TVs feature the Game Menu, providing quick and easy access to game settings: VRR, Motion Blur reduction, Black Equalizer (to brighten areas of the image and reveal enemies or bonuses), and the displayed image size (to reduce it on the screen). Of course, ALLM and HDMI 2.1 are included.

Bravia XR95M2, Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode and Prime Video Calibrated Mode functions

Among the other advantages of Sony XR95M2 TVs, in addition to Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode certifications (to enjoy series, documentaries, movies, etc. on your TV with the same quality as the studios) Netflix post-production regardless of the environment (dark or bright), IMAX Enhanced, and Bravia Core Calibrated Mode are all supported by the Prime Video Calibrated Mode label. Again, to enjoy series, documentaries, films, etc. on your television with the same quality as that of Prime Video post-production studios, regardless of the environment (dark or bright). Finally, the design of the Sony Bravia 9 II TVs should be mentioned, with a stand very much inspired by certain Samsung models, made of a plexiglass plate that gives an impression of transparency and lightness (except on the 115"). Lastly, as already mentioned, the screen frame is made of metal. More details to come. Availability announced for June.
