iOS 27: New features expected for the fall of 2026

Apple launched the new iOS 26 operating system on iPhones (and its equivalent on other Apple devices) in the fall of 2025, notably offering a radical design change, the most significant since iOS 7 in 2013, with the adoption of the "liquid glass" aesthetic. iOS 27, focused on stability and optimizations, is already well underway and will be presented in June at WWDC 2026, before its public release in September with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra. iOS 27 will focus on improving the "underlying quality and performance." In other words, no major upheaval, which makes sense after the significant evolution of iOS 26. iOS 27: A summary of the rumored new features. Here's a brief summary of the new features it would bring, according to the latest rumors: • Siri App: The new Siri will be a fully-fledged assistant, like ChatGPT or Gemini, and will have its own dedicated app. It can be queried by voice or text. • Improved Siri: Expected since 2024 and still delayed, the improved version of Siri should adapt more personally to the user, better understanding their context of use and taking into account the information displayed on the screen as well as their personal data. • Visual Intelligence: Better awareness and analysis of the environment, with, for example, the ability to scan nutritional labels on food to track calories and nutrients via the Health app. You'll also be able to scan phone numbers and addresses to add them to your contacts. • Satellite Functions: Currently limited to text when used via satellite, the Messages app will allow you to exchange photos. Apple also wants to make the Maps app work via satellite. Useful for finding your way in the middle of nowhere. Satellite connection will be possible even if the iPhone is simply in a pocket or in a vehicle, whereas today it requires a clear sky and the iPhone being pointed more or less towards one of these satellites above our heads. • Other: Improved automatic text correction and global opacity adjustment for the iPhone's Liquid Glass interface.
