The release date for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, set for November 19, 2026, now seems more certain than ever. Publisher Take-Two Interactive announced today that the game's marketing campaign will begin this summer, a clear sign that the launch is fast approaching.
Take-Two has just released its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026. In this report, the company confirms that GTA VI is on schedule. It also expresses unwavering optimism for the coming year. According to the official statement, their performance in 2026 was described as exceptional, and fiscal year 2027 is already shaping up to be a major milestone, both for Take-Two and for the entire entertainment industry. The release of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19, will be the culmination, with a launch campaign orchestrated by Rockstar that will begin this summer. GT6: Confidence levels are at their highest. IGN spoke with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, who reaffirmed his confidence in the release schedule. When asked how he felt approaching the release, he replied: "I feel good about it. Very good, actually. As soon as you get close to the major marketing milestones, it obviously means our confidence level is at its highest." Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay in sight? To date, only two trailers have been released. The first, unveiled in late 2023, offered a striking return to Vice City, while the second, released at the beginning of last summer, focused more on the characters. All eyes are now on a likely third trailer expected this summer. This time, players hope to see the first gameplay footage, since the previous videos were exclusively cinematic. Meanwhile, another impressive figure stands out. Grand Theft Auto V surpassed 225 million copies sold worldwide at the end of December. A colossal record, illustrating the immense anticipation surrounding the next installment. Needless to say, the competition had better prepare. Everything is in place to make GTA VI not only the game of the year, but perhaps even the game of the decade, or even of this century. A true video game revolution is about to sweep through the industry.
