04.11.2025 • 11h36
Following HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR, the HDR10+ display format is arriving on the Disney+ platform, currently only on Samsung TVs.
While Samsung has just announced HDR10+ Advanced technology (see our article HDR10+ Advanced: Samsung's response to Dolby Vision 2 HDR, Prime Video supports…), supported by Prime Video (and suspected by Disney+), films and series in HDR10+ format are arriving on the Disney+ service (in accordance with the announcement made by the company at CES 2025 in Las Vegas last January, see our article CES 25 > Disney+ adopts HDR10+), starting with the Hulu section of the platform (which arrives this fall in France), before spreading to Disney programs themselves. Inbeom Kim, Vice President of Samsung's Visual Display division, said, "We are delighted to introduce this technology on Disney+ and remain committed to collaborating with various partners to expand HDR10+ support across our entire product range as well as in "the broader streaming landscape," said Inbeom Kim, vice president of Samsung's Visual Display division. Note that HDR10+ content on Disney+ is currently only available on select Samsung monitors and Smart TVs (LCD and OLED models from 2018 and later). Furthermore, a Disney+ Premium subscription is required to access it.
