iPhone 17, limited Wi-Fi speed?

Despite its compatibility with the Wi-Fi 7 standard, the new iPhone 17 range would limit itself so as not to exploit it to its full capacity.

The new iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air are equipped with the proprietary N1 chip, enabling Thread, [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 6, and [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] 7 connections. However, the latter standard apparently has bandwidth limitations.

Bandwidth limitation ultimately not or only slightly problematic££££ This is what FCC (Federal Communications Commission in the United States) documents seen by Macrumors reveal, indicating that the new iPhones use a maximum bandwidth of 160 mHz, compared to the standard's potential 320 mHz. A limitation that was already found on the previous iPhone 16. A problem at first glance, but which is ultimately not one, since Wi-Fi 7 is already often limited at the carrier level and by other factors. The impact therefore remains limited for the majority of users. What's more, the new N1 chip brings - according to Apple - greater reliability and optimized power consumption for the latest iPhones.
