AirTag vs. Luggage Thieves

Yet another example of a crime solved quickly thanks to a simple gadget, in this case Apple's AirTag tracker.

Apple's AirTag tracker occasionally finds itself at the center of news stories involving stolen items or lost luggage at the airport. Today's story is a combination of both, as it involves luggage theft... at an airport.

The bag escapes from the airport on its own, or almost££££ At the end of August, Daniel Scott arrived at LAX airport in Los Angeles and patiently waited for his luggage, which would never arrive. A quick glance at his iPhone to locate his bag, in which he had placed an AirTag, and the man realized that it was moving on its own towards the outside of the airport. Realizing fairly quickly that his luggage had been stolen, Scott called the police, with whom he reached an abandoned building near the airport. Law enforcement officers swarmed the scene and found the thief, who wasted no time since he was already dressed in clothes found in the victim's bag. In the end, despite his bag being ripped open, Daniel Scott recovered 90% of his belongings. A story with a rather happy ending, a reminder that in these kinds of cases, it's always a good idea to involve the police and not chase criminals alone. You never know.
