With Blackwell, GeForce Now Cloud Gaming Moves Up a Gear

NVidia's server hardware is getting a major upgrade, giving a performance boost to its GeForce Now game streaming platform.

Starting in September, the Ultimate subscription option of the nVidia GeForce Now Cloud Gaming service is improving thanks to a server upgrade, notably with the integration of RTX 5080 graphics cards and the Blackwell architecture.

The nVidia company promises in particular a frame rate multiplied by 2.8, a brand new [abc]streaming[/abc] mode of cinema quality, i.e. streaming games in up to 5K resolution at 120 frames per second on computers (including Mac), Ultra HD 4K at 120 Hz home consoles and LG Smart TVs (see our news nVidia GeForce Now Blackwell: Cloud Gaming 4K 120 fps on LG Smart TV), supported by DLSS 4 technology for higher scaling of the base resolution. For its part, the Steam Deck console will benefit from a display of up to 90 frames per second (compared to 60 previously). Note that Premium members can now access Install-to-Play mode, allowing you to enrich your game collection by giving you access to more than 2,200 titles on Steam.
