CES 24 > TCL Oled TV (Ink-Jet Printed RGB): 55''/65'' in 2025, 77''/85''/98'' in 2026?

Mid-December, during a TCL press conference held in Warsaw, we published news on the development of Oled RGB Ink-Jet Printed technology within the Chinese manufacturer with 2025 online target for the first televisions, end of 2024 for monitors. And we look forward to meeting you at the CES show in Las Vegas to find out more on the subject…

First of all, after discussions with the brand's representatives, the roadmap presented in our previous news is still on the agenda (see our news TV Oled TCL (Ink-Jet Printed) in 2025?). Namely, the marketing of the first IJP-Oled RGB (for Ink-Jet Printed) computer monitors at the end of 2024.

TV Oled RGB Ink-Jet Printed, the 2024-2026 roadmap

In 2025, if all goes well, TCL should offer 55'' (140 cm) and 65'' (165 cm) IJP-Oled RGB TVs. And in 2026, if all goes well, larger televisions, 75''/77'' (191 cm/196 cm), 85'' (216 cm) and perhaps 98'' (249 cm) would make their way. appearance. Of course, smaller diagonals are also planned, 42'' (107 cm) and 48'' (122 cm). As a reminder, IJP-Oled RGB (for Ink-Jet Printed) technology will be implemented in the TCL group's CSOT factories. The latter is the only Oled obedience, for large screen, to use three red/green/blue sub-pixels to display an image according to the principle of an additive screen, guaranteeing very high colorimetric accuracy (a contrario of White Oled for example).

IJP-Oled RGB, the best display technology?

As a reminder, according to TCL, the IJP-Oled RGB process brings together a number of advantages compared to White Oled from LG Display or QD Oled from Samsung Display. Coverage greater than 90% of the Rec.2020 gamut, an average brightness of 300 nits and 2,000 nits peak, all with a very favorable energy label (see first photo of this news, above). And if the production costs of IJP-Oled panels are estimated to be high at the beginning, they should drop significantly thereafter. Specialists in the screen industry estimate, for example, that the cost of manufacturing a 75/77'' (191/196 cm) IJP-Oled RGB panel will quickly become 33% cheaper than a 77 panel. '' leaving LG Display factories.

TCL IJP-Oled RGB monitor, demonstrated at CES 2024

As proof of TCL's progress in its ability to manufacture Oled Ink-Jet Printed RGB screens, the presentation of a first 8K Ultra HD television of its kind at CES 2023 (see photo below) and a doubly curved 4K UHD monitor (horizontally and vertically, see photo at the bottom of this news) this year. Namely, following the bankruptcy of the Japanese Joled, at the origin of the IJP-Oled process, in March 2023, the production lines were repatriated to China by TCL which held 11% of the capital of the Japanese company).
