Casino Royale: a crazy Collector's Edition for the craziest 007

For bondophiles, the 1967 Casino Royale, co-directed by Val Guest, Kenneth Hughes, John Huston, Joseph McGrath and Robert Parrish, is a UFO. A Collector's Edition worthy of the name is expected this month.

In 1967, Albert R. Broccoli (historic producer of the James Bond saga) did not have the rights to the novel Casino Royale by Ian Fleming (007's dad), the latter having in fact sold them to the television channel CBS which made it into a TV movie. She subsequently sold them to clever producers who decided to ride on the success of the films with Sean Connery, to release their James Bond parody, hiring in the process no less than Ursula Andress, Peter Sellers, David Niven, Woody Allen, Orson Welles, William Holden, Jacqueline Bisset or even Jean-Paul Belmondo and even Mireille Mathieu (for the French version!). Casino Royale was born, and it smacks of the 60s.

Casino Royale from 1967, kitsch but cult

So of course, this Casino Royale, which therefore has nothing to do with the film directed by Martin Campbell with Daniel Craig, is a bit kitsch, but has become cult over time and it must be admitted that the film is quite special, already for these five co-directors! This is what the Collector's Edition of the film tells, among other things, in 1 Blu-Ray + 2 DVD + 1 Collector's book of 112 pages, to be released on October 18 by Rimini.
