Disney more expensive, and with advertising, from November

It had to happen. The Disney+ streaming platform will soon increase its prices, but is trying to preemptively limit consumer discontent by introducing a new cheaper option, interspersed with advertisements.

After the success of the option with advertising launched in 2022 in the United States, Disney+ is extending this offer to Europe. From November 1, this new subscription will be available in several countries, including France. Until then limited to a single rate for French users, the OTT Disney+ service will soon offer three options.

Disney+, three price offers in France from November

The current offer, priced at €8.99 will be called Disney+ Premium and go to €11.99, notably offering streaming in Ultra HD 4K, Dolby Atmos and up to four simultaneous streams. Then comes the Disney+ Standard option at €8.99, up to 1080p and without HDR, with 5.1 audio reproduction. Finally, the Disney + Standard option with Advertisements will be at 5.99 euros. So cheap, but interspersed with advertisements.

Current subscribers will automatically upgrade to the Premium version, and will therefore be automatically overcharged, but will have the option of choosing another option beforehand.
