Streaming: 245 million invested in French production

Netflix, Disney +, Amazon Prime Video and other streaming platforms are investing more and more in French productions.

According to the latest CNC video-on-demand observatory, streaming platforms invested 245 million euros in the creation of French content in 2021, against 86 million in 2020. This figure was only 15 million in 2016.

Netflix invests 20% of its turnover in France in French creation

Series are the first format in terms of investment, with 44% of total investments between 2016 and 2021. For Netflix alone, the equivalent of 20% of its 2020 turnover in France was injected into French production in 2021. Note that this percentage is now considered a minimum by the regulatory authority CSA, therefore the legislator, which recently signed its first official agreements with the American giants, Netflix, Disney + and Amazon Prime Video.
