Apple Siri AI on iOS 27: Is your iPhone powerful enough?

Announced two years ago and then delayed, the long-awaited improved Apple assistant, Siri AI, is about to arrive. But will your iPhone be powerful enough to handle it?
At WWDC 2026, after an initial teaser in 2024 followed by a two-year delay, Apple finally unveiled its new AI-powered assistant, Siri, simply named Siri AI, which is expected to arrive with the iOS 27 update this fall. Siri AI: Dedicated app and contextual understanding. No surprises if you've been following the previous rumors: in addition to contextual understanding of your screen and leveraging your data for even more personalized responses, Siri AI has its own dedicated app for voice and text interaction, like other AI chatbots of its kind. 12GB of RAM required for the full Siri AI experience. Important! Siri AI works with Apple Intelligence-enabled devices (iPhone 15 Pro and later), but some advanced features, such as more expressive voices and improved speech recognition, are reserved for devices with 12GB of RAM, meaning only the latest iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Air (not the base iPhone 17).
