Smart playlists on Apple Music
19.02.2026 • 17h21
Apple Music will soon be able to generate playlists from your text descriptions, similar to ChatGPT and other chatbots.
Following the Image Playground feature, which allows the iPhone to generate images from text prompts, the Music app will welcome a similar option, a kind of "Playlist Playground." Apple Music, ask it for anything! This is what the upcoming iOS 26.4 update reveals, currently in beta for developers, and which will be rolled out next spring. This new feature in the Music app allows you to create playlists based on your wildest requests, with suggestions included such as "music for morning coffee," "hip hop party," or "disco tracks that defined the '70s." And to stimulate your inspiration, you can also choose from a list of moods, or other tracks and albums. Once the description is entered, the function generates a playlist of 25 tracks, which can then be refined using other keywords and personalized with an image and description.
