Dolby is accelerating its rollout of Dolby Vision 2 HDR (see our IFA 25 news > Dolby Vision 2 HDR: everything you need to know about this new quality standard!) and announces its availability on the 2026 Hisense RGB Mini LED UX and Hisense UR9/UR8 TV ranges (natively), the TCL XSQD Mini LED X series and TCL C series (via update), and the Philips OLED811/911/951.
On-site, Dolby representatives announced two modes for film and series content: Reference and Standard. The first displays the cinematic look intended by the director or cinematographer, while the second takes full advantage of the TV's inherent capabilities. While the Dolby Laboratories announcement confirms our information and speculations regarding the Hisense and TCL TV series, it also reveals the names of three upcoming Philips OLED TV series, scheduled for presentation in just a few weeks. Finally, it indicates that Philips will be among the first TV brands to offer Dolby Vision 2 HDR as early as 2026, ensuring it is ready when Dolby Vision 2 HDR content becomes available.
