Duo Phone: 2/3 e-reader, 1/3 smartphone, or digital detox

A concept bordering on the unrealistic for this smartphone/e-reader hybrid, the Duo Phone, a solution for gradually breaking free from the harmful addiction to digital stimuli, social networks in particular.
After presenting a dual-screen concept—a smartphone on one side, an e-reader on the other—designer Mechanical Pixel returns with a model geared towards gradual digital detox, featuring an e-ink screen on the same side, topped by a smaller, more traditional screen. The H-One, a smartphone with a visual hierarchy, boasts a 5.2" diagonal (1300 × 838 pixels, 300 ppi), while the 120Hz IPS LCD screen is a 3.5" (1280 × 800). A single camera on the back further indicates that the device is not intended for typical smartphone users. The top screen is therefore reserved for notifications and other basic interactions, while most of the functionality is associated with the monochrome screen, notably note-taking and reading. The device thus creates a kind of visual hierarchy, with greater eye comfort, less visual pollution, and better battery life.
