Invisible Face ID on iPhone 18: it's becoming clearer

With a view to a future model devoid of visible sensors on the screen, the next iPhone could initially conceal the facial recognition module.
Rumors have been circulating for a while about the Face ID sensor being hidden behind the screen on the iPhone 18 Pro, expected in 2026, and recent statements from Chinese leaker Smart Pikachu (who boasts several accurate predictions, despite his whimsical name) seem to corroborate these rumors. He claims that Apple is currently testing this new design using a special "micro-transparent" glass integrated into the screen. This material allows the depth sensor to be concealed while still allowing its infrared signal to pass through without being affected. The same source suggests that Apple has already asked the relevant suppliers to accelerate preparations for the mass production of the components needed for this new design. As a result, the small black oval at the top of the screen (the foundation of Dynamic Island) should be smaller than before.
