Apple bets on video games

From the start of the school year, iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs should be receiving a new in-house application that will centralize all functions related to video games.

According to the latest indiscretions gathered by Bloomberg, Apple is working on a dedicated video game application, common to all its devices: iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. The information echoes a similar rumor dating back to October 2024.

This application would centralize previously scattered features, including the Games tab of the AppStore, the Game Center service, and the paid platform Apple Arcade. It would allow you to launch your games directly, and would have sections dedicated to "achievements", score rankings, editorial content and communication (with possible integration of FaceTime and iMessage).

The application should be pre-installed on the new iOS19, mac0S16, and tvOS19 updates, and could be presented as early as June 9th at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2025. With this new feature, Apple shows its desire to facilitate access to video games for its users.
