Samsung QN800D TV, Ultra HD 8K Mini LED TV: updated indicative prices

After our news on the QD Oled TV series Samsung S95D and Mini LED Samsung QN900D on the occasion of the publication of their indicative prices, return to the Samsung QN800D televisions also presented at the CES show in Las Vegas last January, again based on Mini LED technology and Ultra HD 8K LCD panels, to find out their prices.

The Neo QLED Mini LED Ultra HD 8K QN800D 2024 TV series includes three references, the Samsung TQ65QN800D (65'', 165 cm), Samsung TQ75QN800D (75'', 191 cm) and Samsung TQ85QN800D (85'', 216 cm).

Samsung QN800D and Samsung QN900D, the differences££££

If the Samsung QN900D televisions, as already announced in our previous news, feature the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, the most powerful processor ever offered by the brand ( see our news (UPDATE) CES 24 > NQ8 AI Gen3 processor with 512 Deep Learning modules for Samsung 8K Neo QLED TVs to find out more about its main specifications in terms of video processing), the Samsung QN800D references feature the NQ8 chip AI Gen2. On the program are 256 Deep Learning modules compared to 512 on the NQ8 AI Gen 3. Certainly, this is two times less than for the QN900D specimens but it is still four times more than the 8K TV range of the 2023 vintage brand. Other notable difference, the integration of 8K AI Upscaling processing and not 8K AI Upscaling Pro. For the rest, the NQ8 AI Gen2 processor displays the same characteristics as the NQ8 AI Gen3.

Samsung QN800D TV, zoom on the audio features££££

On the audio front, we find on Samsung QN800D TVs the 2024 Q-Symphony feature harmoniously distributing the signal to the TV speakers and the bar its compatible. Combined with the OTS Pro process, depending on the action taking place on the screen, for example a car passing on the left on the screen, Q Symphony 2024 activates the appropriate HP of the TV and not those placed all around the screen (see . photo below), and the sound bar. As a reminder, the OTS Pro system aims to “stick” the sound of objects to their movement in the image for better realism (see second photo below).

We also find the AVA Pro (Active Voice Amplifier) function intended to cover new noise in the TV environment automatically to preserve the intelligibility of dialogue. For example that of a kettle or a vacuum cleaner which will be covered by an increase in volume managed directly by the TV. Don't panic, the TV lowers the sound, always automatically, when the noise stops.

Tizen 8, focus on profile management and interface customization££££

Also on the program for Samsung 2024 TVs, the Tizen 8.0 operating system. Among the new features, profile management (associated with the accounts of the members of a household) allowing the television interface to be personalized according to each person's wishes, without forgetting content recommendations linked to the tastes of each person (see. photo below). On the screen appear three new tabs superimposed on the main image, For you, Direct and Apps. The first saves the last used source(s) and recommended content. The second provides access to live content and the EPG. The third is none other than the application store. Namely, in 2024, the recommendations concern audio-video content but also video games (Gaming Hub) and works of art (Art Store).

Tizen 8, new Daily+ and Now+££££ menus

In the vertical navigation bar on the left of the interface, a new menu called Daily+ appears. This gives direct access to the SmartThings Dashboard (to easily and quickly connect and control Smart Home devices in the home), and to Workspace mode to easily connect to a remote PC or to Microsoft 365 in order to have a workstation. teleworking directly via the television.

For its part, the Now+ service displays generic widgets on the screen (weather, traffic, news, etc.) or the security camera(s), but also information linked to the different members (account) of the home: birthdays, appointments... Everything is of course accessible via voice command (see photo above).

TV Samsung QN800D, Game Bar 2024 more immersive££££

In 2024, the Game Bar 2024 of Samsung Smart TVs evolves for increased immersion of the player in the action. Thus, the TV automatically selected the appropriate audio-video channels depending on the nature of the game displayed: RPG, Sports, FPS, RTS. If in the presence of a football game, the atmospheres are favored, with an FPS the emphasis is placed on the sound details which could betray the presence or movement of an enemy. Likewise, the minimap is detected automatically and can be placed on the screen according to your wishes. For the rest, new Cloud Gaming services enrich the Samsung Gaming Hub, Luna and Bosteroids, and the most used games are now directly accessible from the TV home page. As a reminder, Samsung has just formalized the Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub label.

Samsung QN800D TV, the 4 exclusive ISP applications££££

If the Bouygues Telecom, Free and Orange applications had been present for a while on Samsung Smart TVs to benefit from a complete dematerialized box in its television, the fourth major ISP (Internet Service Provider) in France, SFR, was still missing until last summer. This is now done and Samsung broadcasters are for some time to come the only ones to offer them all.

Last clarification, the One Connect box of Samsung 8K Ultra HD TVs, the only specimens to benefit from it in 2024 as in 2023, is undergoing a new slimming treatment (see photo above). Detached or clipped to the back of the TV on its stand, it is almost absolutely discreet.

Samsung QN800D TV, Infinity Air design££££

Finally, if the Infinity design of the Samsung 8K Neo QLED TVs is still required, the Samsung QN800D screens feature the Infinity Air design for exceptional finesse, without however display that of the QN900D TVs (12.9 mm as a reminder), in addition to a stand with a mirror effect finish giving the impression that the screen is floating in the air (see the two photos below).

While waiting to return in detail to the equipment of the Samsung QN800D TVs planned in stores in April, their indicative prices are now known: €3,999 for the Samsung TQ65QN800D, €5,499 for the Samsung TQ75QN800D and €7,999 for the Samsung TQ85QN800D.
