Asterix & Obelix: Cleopatra mission 4K Ultra HD, you will know everything about its restoration

On January 30, 2002, Asterix & Obélix: Mission Cleopatra by Alain Chabat was released for the first time in cinemas with a phenomenal success of nearly 14.4 million admissions. On July 5, after a complete restoration, the film began a wonderful second life in theaters with 400,000 admissions in one month. On December 13, the film will be distributed in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray formats for the first time in France.

That's not all. On December 13, an exhaustive 65-minute documentary produced over more than a year by Jay -aka Jean Antoine Lacolle- on the restoration and the remastering of Asterix & Obélix: Cleopatra mission, implemented within the Hiventy company under the supervision of Pathé.

As a reminder, “Petitbonum Jay” was a partner of the Cobra TV Awards jury, which worked a few weeks ago, among others in our company, on the election of the best Oled TV of the year 2023 (see . our news Cobra TV Awards, election for Best Oled TV 2023: the why and how). On the program, zoom on the restoration of the original negative, on the digital restoration of the images after scanning the reels, on the new Dolby Vision HDR calibration, on the new Dolby Atmos mixing and, finally, on the authoring of the 4K Ultra HD disc.
