Murena 2, the smartphone that protects your privacy

Successful crowdfunding for this “DéGooglisé” smartphone equipped with buttons dedicated to protecting privacy.

Nearly €190,000 raised a few hours before the end of the Murena 2 crowdfunding campaign, while the initial objective was only 25,000 euros. A success therefore for the first smartphone equipped with two switches to avoid “being spied on”.

Smartphone Murena 2, open source operating system /e/OS

The “Privacy” button allows you to disconnect the cameras and the microphone, while the “Privacy” button cuts off all connectivity (Airplane mode) as well as all sounds. Additionally, the Murena 2 uses a "very private" open source operating system called /e/OS. It has features dedicated to respecting privacy, such as a VPN so as not to be geolocated, the hiding of its IP address, and the identification of application trackers.

Smartphone Murena 2 still compatible with Android

The Murena company claims to be a specialist in the “DeGoogling” of smartphones, but its OS remains compatible with Android. You can therefore install the applications you are used to. The Murena 2 also provides access to a private cloud to synchronize your documents stored on your own Clouds.

Available at the indicative price of 499 euros.
