Sisu, Gold and Blood: Bloody SS on Blu-Ray October 19

The Finnish action film Sisu of Gold and Blood will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD on October 19 by M6 Video.

At the end of 1944, in the wilds of Finnish Lapland, gold prospector Aatami (Jorma Tommila) discovers a fabulous vein. While transporting his new fortune to a bank, Aatami comes across a small group of routed SS men. Their commander, Helldorf (Aksel Hennie), believes that Aatami's fortune will allow him to escape Europe. After stripping the gold prospector and leaving him for dead, the SS head towards what they hope will be their escape route. But Aatami, a former commando, survives. And the stubborn soldier will undertake to massacre one by one the Nazis who robbed him.

A humble production at 6 million dollars

Sisu, Gold and Blood is filmed by Jalmari Helander (Big Game). This pure, bloody action and revenge film, set between John Wick and John Rambo, achieved modest success ($14 million in worldwide revenue). Not bad for a humble production at 6 million dollars!

If Sisu clearly suffered from a minimalist release in France (75,000 admissions), it was nevertheless supported by an enthusiastic review and peaked at 94% favorable opinions on the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

The list of complements planned by M6 Video has not yet been published, but fans of carnage will note that Sisu also benefits from a 4K US version already on the market, published by Lionsgate and offering a French version as well as a Original version with French subtitles.
