Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma UHD 4K, new Laser Cinema model

A look back at Hisense news at the IFA show in Berlin with, after the PX1-Pro appearing in fall 2022 and the PX2-Pro announced last spring, the Hisense PX3-Pro already unveiled by the Chinese manufacturer while this model is only planned for 2024. Of course, the latter benefits from the exclusive Trichroma label, so it is still based on a triple RGB laser light source.

3First of all, you must keep in mind that the PX3-Pro, like the Hisense PX2-Pro, Hisense PX1-Pro and Hisense PL1, is part of the Laser Cinema family and not Laser TV. Indeed, it is marketed without a DVB-T2 DVB-C2/DVB-S tuner, so it cannot directly replace a television.

Hisense PX3-Pro Cinema Laser, HDR Dolby Vision on the program

If the Hisense PX3-Pro manages HDR10 and HDR Dolby Vision technologies, like the PX2-Pro, it should ensure the decoding of the dynamic metadata of an HDR10+ signal to display images exactly like a broadcaster officially awarded the label.

Hisense PX3-Pro Cinema Laser, 7th art lens

With its name Laser Cinema, the Hisense PX3-Pro sets the tone: to charm Home Cinema enthusiasts who love a great quality image to satisfy their passion for the 7th art (note, moreover, the presence of Filmmaker Mode and MEMC motion compensation).

Hisense PX3-Pro Cinema Laser, main specifications

The Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Laser Cinema incorporates most of the technical characteristics of the PX2-Pro, namely: Ultra HD 4K definition, HDR Dolby Vision, HDR10 and therefore HDR10+ compatibility, 110% coverage of the Rec.2020 gamut ( or more or less what the human eye sees) thanks to an unprecedented extremely fine control of light, and X-Fusion Laser Light Engine module, exclusive to the brand and based on a triple RGB laser.

The Hisense PX3-Pro Laser Cinema features the exclusive Vidaa Smart TV function (it remains to be seen whether it will be the U6 or U7 version). It provides access to AirPlay 2/Apple Home (formerly Apple Homekit) and the main video streaming services once the Laser TV is connected to the Internet (Disney+, myCanal, Netflix, Prime Video, Salto, Rakuten TV, Youtube, etc.). We also note the presence of the Amazon Alexa voice assistant, an internet browser, the UPnP (DLNA) multimedia gateway function, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatibility and screen sharing.

Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Cinema Laser, image from 90'' to 130''

Precision, the Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Laser Cinema offers a large, or even very large, diagonal image, that is to say from 90'' (229 cm) to 130'' (330 cm), always for a few tens of centimeters of distance. And for an image that is always detailed and precise, the Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Laser Cinema features motorized and digital focusing.

Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Cinema Laser, peak light at 2,400 lumens

For the rest, the Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Laser Cinema integrates a 0.47'' DLP TI chip with a response time of 32 µs, i.e. 500 times faster than an LCD TV and displays a peak light identical to that of the PX2-Pro, i.e. 2,400 lumens for a native contrast ratio announced at 3,000:1. Please note, unlike Hisense Laser TV references, here no screen provided. It's up to you to combine it with a classic canvas or a specific Fresnel-type canvas (see photo below), the particularity of which is to absorb the ambient light to leave room for the projected image.

Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Cinema Laser, connectivity

On the connectivity side, there are two HDMI 2.0, an HDMI 2.1 input with eARC and ALLM compatibility and an Ethernet port. Namely, these are not compatible with 4K/120 but only 4K/60, too bad for PS5 and/or Xbox Series X owners, they will not be able to fully exploit the capabilities of their new generation home console. We also notice a Composite input, an RCA stereo output, a 3.5 mm mini-Jack stereo output, an optical output, two USB ports (including one 3.0) plus an Ethernet port.

Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Cinema Laser, sound section

The sound section of the Hisense PX3-Pro TriChroma Laser Cinema, 2.0, is evolving. It will be capable of delivering a maximum power of 40 W (2 x 25 W) compared to 30 W on the PX2-Pro. Dolby Atmos compatibility is there.
