PlayStation 6, from 2027?

A leak of confidential documents suggests that the next PlayStation, the one bearing the number 6 not the PS5 Pro, could arrive sooner than expected (or not).

As you certainly know, Microsoft has been trying for some time to buy the giant publisher/developer Activision/Blizzard, a transaction that will only be made with the approval of the national anti-monopoly commissions of countries around the world.

PS6, release date subdued via proposed Call of Duty availability through 2027

Obtaining this approval means an unpacking of internal documents made public for examination, and therefore juicy details which happily leak, as we have already reported a few times. Even Sony's secrets are revealed in the public square, the company being directly concerned by this merger because it wishes its failure for unfair competition. Latest leak, a document where Sony explains that Microsoft has “proposed to allow Activision games to be available on PlayStation until 2027”. And to continue: "By the time Sony launches the next generation of its PlayStation console (which is likely to happen around ), it will have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles, leaving it extremely vulnerable. changes in consumers and the subsequent deterioration of its competitiveness". In other words, Sony admits that the PS6 could be released in 2027, 2028 at the latest. Not for now. In the meantime, other PlayStations should arrive, including the PS5 Slim and the PS5 Pro.
