iPad Oled in 2024, it becomes clearer

After years of rumors - almost a decade - the integration of OLED display technology on the iPad continues to take shape.

It was in 2015 that we first reported to you a rumor about the arrival of Oled technology on Apple tablets. And according to the latest rumors that we published at the very beginning of the year, the very first Apple Oled tablets would arrive (finally) in 2024.

iPad Oled, 4 prototypes in development?

Indiscretions which seem to be confirmed via a recent leak by ShrimpApplePro, which claims that four prototypes are in development, with screen sizes 11'' (27.94 cm) and 12.9'' (32.76 cm) ). These Oled screens are not the same as on the iPhone but are more similar to those of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 7. In detail, they are not flexible but more rigid, the kind cheaper to produce and offering a viewing angle of lower quality.

iPad Oled, doubled brightness and increased longevity?

To compensate for this defect, the screens -developed by Samsung- use two emissive layers to double the brightness and provide four times the longevity of single-layer models. Incidentally, the cost of production is affected and these iPad Pro 2024 could cost up to 80% more than current models.
