Creed III: fratricidal duel without Rocky but in 4K Ultra HD on July 13

The sports drama Creed III, led and directed by Michael B. Jordan, will be released in 4K UHD on July 13 by Warner in a Steelbook box set.

Having reached the top, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) welcomes his childhood friend Damian (Jonathan Majors) who has just served a heavy prison sentence. But Damian convinced himself that Adonis robbed him of the career he should have had. Damian trains furiously and proves to be ready for anything, even the worst, to crush this ex-friend whom he considers a usurper.

Sylvester Stallone says no

Creed III, released in theaters in early March, is the ninth film in the Rocky franchise. It is also the very first feature where neither the character of Rocky nor Sylvester Stallone appears, the one who had imagined the saga in 1976.

If the Oscar-winning Stallone does not appear, it is because of an old dispute with Irwin Winkler, the producer of the franchise, over the ownership of the saga. And also because of an artistic disagreement with the direction driven by Michael B. Jordan and his screenwriter Ryan Coogler at Creed III.

Except for the very unlikely reconciliation between Sylvester Stallone and Irwin Winkler, Creed II should therefore mark Rocky Balboa's final appearance in the fresco.

But the film is a hit

Creed III, whose plot is reminiscent of both that of Rocky III and the remake of Raw Nerves by Martin Scorsese, turns out to be a good box office success anyway. The film, although released only at the beginning of March, has already accumulated more than 100 million dollars in worldwide revenue.

The content of the bonuses that will accompany the 4K version of Creed III - for which pre-orders are already open - has not yet been communicated.
