Star Trek the Next Generation: 4K Ultra HD 4-Movie Box Set April 5

Paramount will release in France on April 5 a Star Trek: the Next Generation box set including the four feature films of the spin-off led by Patrick Stewart.

The four Star Trek: The Next Generation spin-off films will be available in 4K Ultra HD box set on April 5th. These are Star Trek: Generations (1994), Star Trek: First Contact (1996), Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) and Star Trek: Nemesis (2002), all led by Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

Each of the films has benefited from a new 4K restoration with Dolby Vision HDR label. Ditto for the attached Blu-Ray versions, which also benefited from a new master. French pre-orders of the Star Trek: the Next Generation box set are already open.

Birth and end of spin offs

For the record, this story in four scenes followed seven seasons of the series The Next Generation. Picard alias Patrick Stewart (Logan, Green Room) and the crew of the Enterprise-D ship then took over from Kirk, alias William Shatner and his Enterprise.

In this Next Generation quartet, it was Star Trek: First Contact, directed by Jonathan Frakes (also director of the episode Insurrection), which achieved the greatest success with $146 million at the box office global. And it was the relative broth of Star Trek: Nemesis ($67 million in revenue) that put an end to the wide-screen spin-off.
