Finished the stem on the AirPods Pro 2?

The next iteration of Apple's True Wireless earphones, the AirPods Pro 2, may adopt an even more discreet and minimal form factor.

All the latest rumors agree that the next version of the AirPods Pro will arrive at the end of 2022. And according to renowned leaker Apple specialist Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, this iteration could be rid of the famous stem that protrudes from the ear.

To get an idea of the shape that these AirPods Pro 2 could wear (possible name but not confirmed), designer Konstantin Milenin (via Yankodesign) designed a 3D model, with a matching charging case. Note that the latter is flatter to adapt to the supposedly reduced size of the new AirPods.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 compatible Alac?

Otherwise, a little reminder of some technical characteristics mentioned in previous rumors. Future Apple AirPods Pro may support Lossless Alac (Apple Lossless) encoding, and their charging case can be located if lost by beeping on demand, most likely through the Locate app.

The headphones could also be equipped with voice control to switch from active noise reduction (ANC) mode to Transparent mode, the latter deactivating ANC to be able to carry on a conversation, for example.
