Apple Music: new logo and organic visual identity by Fred Again… and Nest Acoustics for iOS 27.2

Apple unveils the graphic redesign of its music streaming platform Apple Music ahead of the rollout of the iOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2 software updates. On the program, a new logo and brand-new video animations designed in a 100% handcrafted way in collaboration with British producer Fred Again.. and the specialists at Nest Acoustics. An analog approach that directly echoes the “liquid glass” interface introduced last year on iOS 26.

Faced with this presentation video of the new graphic identity of the Apple Music streaming platform, which will be deployed in the upcoming iOS 27.2, macOS 27.2 and related updates, our feelings remain mixed. On the one hand, we tell ourselves that there is a reason Apple bleeds its customers dry with sky-high prices, since the company seems to have a lot of money to spend just on producing a few logos and animations.

Pure craftsmanship versus artificial intelligence

On the other hand, we can only salute the creativity, technical skill and quality of craftsmanship deployed to create animations that would have taken only five minutes for some bloke in his underwear in front of his computer, thanks to the power of artificial intelligence tools.

Sound in water to extend the iOS 26 interface

Designed in collaboration with musician Fred Again and the company Nest acoustics, the project aims to create imagery with sound, via a system that plays music in water, creating vibrations and unique movements in the liquid in front of an Apple Music logo. The whole thing is captured on camera, without digital effects, and moreover offers a parallel with the "liquid glass-" interface introduced last year with iOS 26.
