Apple: a future connected bracelet without a screen dedicated to health?

While the Apple Watch overwhelmingly dominates the smartwatch market, the Cupertino firm could well be targeting a new segment of connected devices. According to recent leaks, Apple is currently developing a band specifically dedicated to sports and health, completely without a screen, to compete with specialists like Whoop.

After connected watches, Apple could indeed continue targeting users’ wrists with another “wearable” dedicated to activity and health tracking, but with a very different approach. According to the latest information reported by Bloomberg, the company is working on a connected bracelet without a screen. Such a device is not unprecedented, since you can already find one from manufacturers like Whoop, for example (illustrative photo), which does not prevent Apple from seriously exploring the category for several months, with even a few prototypes already in the testing phase.

Eddy Cue at the helm and a minimalist interface At the initiative of this project would be Eddy Cue, the head of the Services division, who also works on the Health division at Apple. The vice president is apparently a big fan of wearables with minimalist interfaces, like this kind of no-frills bracelet, but also smart rings, which are very much in vogue.

No release before 2028? If Apple decides to pursue the project and approve its commercialization, we won’t see it hit stores before 2028. Indeed, the California company is already working flat out on other connected wearable products deemed more priority, such as its future smart glasses or AirPods equipped with built-in cameras.
