JBL Quantum 520, 520X and 120: new gaming headsets for all gamers

The JBL Quantum 650 Wireless gaming headset, the flagship model in the Quantum mid-range lineup (JBL Quantum 650, new Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth gaming headset), is joined by three new references, the JBL Quantum 520 Wireless, JBL Quantum 520X Wireless and JBL Quantum 120 (see photo below). These latter models were designed to bring the brand's immersive spatial processing experience to a wider audience, while introducing new materials focused on lightness and comfort, such as a silicone headband and breathable fabric ear cushions.

 

 

Spatial sound and Hi-Res Audio certified carbon transducers While the first two models mentioned are similar wireless models, the X version is notable for being Xbox certified. The Quantum 120 is a wired version, in a lightweight and comfortable format. All three offer JBL Quantum Spatial Sound to widen the soundstage, and are equipped with 50 mm Hi-Res Audio certified [abc]carbon dynamic drivers,[/abc] as well as a detachable 6 mm cardioid boom microphone with noise reduction.

Extended battery life and dual wireless connectivity In terms of battery life, the Quantum 520 wireless models (see photo above) and Quantum 520X offer up to 37 hours of listening, with the added benefit of fast charging providing 1 hour of use for just 5 minutes of charging. An important point corrected from the initial announcements, these two variants benefit from dual wireless connectivity (2.4 GHz [abc]USB[/abc] dongle for proprietary radio link and [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 5.4), in addition to a low-latency wired USB-C connection. All three models can of course be adjusted with the JBL QuantumEngine software, which brings together all the essential features: audio customization, user profiles, microphone settings, all within a simplified user interface.
