iPhone fans are giving in to the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8?

While Apple has just unveiled its first foldable-screen smartphone, the iPhone Duo (see our news item iPhone Duo: Apple finally gets the hang of it with its first foldable smartphone), it would appear that Samsung has greatly benefited from its lead with its model of identical proportions, the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Faithful Apple fans would in fact be turning more and more toward the Korean manufacturer.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 8 is apparently the best-selling model of the three foldables launched by the South Korean manufacturer this summer. Demand would be such that production lines are unable to keep up.

A format increasingly appealing at Apple

Furthermore, this new format is attracting more iPhone users than before, if a report from the Korean site Newsis is to be believed. Thus, the proportion of iPhone users giving up their device to switch to Samsung’s latest foldables would have doubled compared with the previous 2025 generation.

Young buyers in the crosshairs

Note that most of these people are under 30, which is interesting when you know that Samsung generally has trouble attracting young buyers, who instead tend to turn to the iPhone. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will maintain its lead once the foldable-screen iPhone Duo goes on sale.
