LG CineBeam Q, portable and stylish 4K triple laser RGB video projector

Presented at the CES show in Las Vegas at the beginning of January, the LG HU710PB CineBeam Qube video projector sees its name simplified for its French announcement with the name LG CineBeam Q. Except for its name, the product remains identical to that presented by the brand in the capital Game.

Ultra HD 4K model, the LG CineBeam Q is still based on a triple RGB laser light source, which explains its announced performance, particularly for gamut coverage, 154% of DCI-P3. The integration of a laser light source also implies improved ergonomics, no need to replace the lamps regularly for example.

LG CineBeam Q, a unique design££££

Another remarkable aspect of the LG CineBeam Q is its design, which is very different from that of traditional video projectors. Its name -Qube- is however misleading, the video projector comes in a rectangular shape, with a size close to that of a satellite speaker (80 x 135 x 135 mm). In addition to a weight contained at 1.49 kg on the scale, its portable character also appears with its 360-degree rotating carrying handle (it also serves as a wedge for the LG CineBeam Qube once it is placed on a support).

LG HU710PB, 500 peak lumens££££

The creator of the LG CineBeam Q indicates that its performance in terms of brightness reaches 500 peak lumens, again a remarkable figure for a portable specimen. Thus, the LG HU710PB is capable of projecting images from 50'' (127 cm) to 120'' (305 cm) for a displayed contrast ratio of 450,000:1. Even if the latter seems optimistic, the specifications of the LG CineBeam Q open, in the absence of those of the Home Cinema room, the doors of the living room to enjoy a sports broadcast, a gaming session and even occasionally 'a film or series. Moreover, in its presentation of the LG HU710PB, the Korean manufacturer mentions its cinematographic qualities with deep blacks and rich colors. Last clarification, HDR10 compatibility is required.

LG CineBeam Q, ergonomics and connectivity££££

Like more and more video projectors, the LG CineBeam Q features a Automatic focus and Keystone (trapezoidal) correction that prevents focus and geometry errors. A good point for a portable video projector intended to move regularly from projection location. The CineBeam Q's connectivity is simple but the essentials are there with an HDMI input equipped with the eARC function (to recover sound from the video projector and send it to a soundbar or a Home Cinema system) and a USB Type-C port, not to mention wireless support for Android and iOS systems.

LG HU710PB, WebOS 6.0££££

The LG HU710PB is equipped with the WebOS 6.0 interface allowing full access to the main 4K UHD streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube… Finally, a gallery of ambient images is present if you want them.

Availability announced, no joke, for April 1st. Indicative price: 1,300 euros.
